Dr. Kent Small is an M.D. and clinical and basic science researcher for over 30 years. Dr. Small went to Tulane University for medical school and completed his
residency and fellowship from Duke University. He has served as a professor in ophthalmology and molecular biology at University of Florida and University of California Los
Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Small has been the principal investigator as a part of over 20 NIH and 100 pharmaceutical funded clinical trial grants. Several patents are in his
portfolio as well. Much of his basic science research has been in molecular genetics as well as in molecular diagnostics. While a tenured professor at UCLA, he
studied business entrepreneurship and corporate financing in the MBA program at UCLA Anderson School of Business.
